EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern men's soccer kicks off Homecoming weekend on Friday night when it hosts Rutgers for a Big Ten matchup. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT from Martin Stadium and will be streamed on B1G+.

The Wildcats are looking to return to their strong home form at Martin Stadium, where they won two games in a row two weeks ago against DePaul and Ohio State. The 'Cats are 3-1-1 at home this season.

Rutgers is 7-3-2 overall with a 1-3-1 record in Big Ten play. The 'Cats are 1-4 in conference play but can leapfrog the Scarlet Knights in the standings with a win on Friday.

The 'Cats jumped out to an early lead their last time out on the road at Maryland, but eventually fell 3-1to a strong Terrapins side. Junior Vicente Castro scored the opener for his second goal of the season.

Sophomore Justin Weiss continues to lead the Northwestern offense with five goals and two assists, which puts him in a tie for second in the Big Ten in goals and a tie for third place in total points.

The Wildcats defeated Rutgers the last time the Scarlet Knights made the trip to Evanston in the fall of 2019, winning 2-0 behind goals from Jose Del Valle and Logan Weaver.
