Wildcats Fall at No. 16 Michigan on Sunday Night

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – #19 Northwestern fell to the #16 Michigan Wolverines,85-66, on Sunday night at the Crisler Center.
Three Wildcats finished the night in double figures, led by Robbie Beran who scored 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting, 12 of which came in the second half. It marked Beran's second-highest scoring output this season and his most against a Big Ten opponent since he scored 17 at Illinois last season on January 18, 2020.
Pete Nance finished in double figures for the third-straight game, adding 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Also joining Nance in double figures was Miller Kopp, who added 13 to go along with four rebounds. Both Nance and Kopp have now scored in double figures seven times on the season.
Finishing just shy of double figures were Chase Audige and Ryan Young, who each finished with nine on the night. Young grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, while Audige knocked down two three-pointers.
Coming off a career performance on Tuesday, Nance picked up right where he left off to open the game for the Wildcats. The junior forward from Akron, Ohio scored the Wildcats' first eight points of the game to help the 'Cats jump out to an early 8-2 advantage.
Michigan closed the half on a 9-0 run to take a 43-29 advantage into the break and never looked back, extending its lead further at the start of the second half.
The Wildcats return to Welsh-Ryan Arena to play their fourth-consecutive ranked matchup as they welcome #15 Illinois. Tip-off is at 8 pm CT on Big Ten Network.
