EVANSTON, IL-Â Northwestern men's tennis defeated Iowa 6-1 on Sunday at the Combe Tennis Center. The 'Cats improve to 5-3 on the season with the win and have now won three contests in a row.

Northwestern started the day by taking the doubles point, 2-1. Chris Ephron and Dominik Stary won on court two, while Gleb Blekher and Natan Spear were victorious on court three.

The 'Cats proceeded to take five of the six singles matches. #58 Dominik Stary defeated #39 Kareem Allaf in two sets in the No. 1 spot.

First-year Presley Thieneman made quick work of Peter Alam on the sixth courth, improving to 4-0 on the season in singles matches.Â

Senior Nick Brookes won his match in straight sets, while Simen Bratholm won 12 of the final 13 games in his match to come back from a first-set loss.

Northwestern returns to the court next Sunday, Mar. 14, as they travel to Champaign to take on Illinois at 3 p.m. CT.
