EVANSTON, Ill. – Junior guard Veronica Burton was named to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll this week.Â

Burton led the Wildcats to wins over No. 11 Ohio State and Michigan State this week to help improve their record to 11-3 on the season, including wins in seven of the last eight.

The Newton, Mass. native posted her third-career double-double against Ohio State with 20 points and a career-high 15 rebounds to go along with nine assists and four steals. Against Michigan State, Burton dropped 19 points on a career-high 14 free-throws. She has now scored 15+ points in all but one game this season.

Burton was recently named one of the six best perimeter defenders in college basketball by ESPN and leads the nation in steals per game with 4.21 (min. five games played).Â

She ranks in the top 10 in the conference in points per game, minutes per game, three-point field goals per game, steals, assists, and assist-to-turnover ratio.

Burton and the Wildcats will be back in action Thursday, Feb. 11, as they host Rutgers at 3 p.m. CT.
