Stary Named UTR/ITA National Player of the Week

EVANSTON, IL -- Senior Dominik Stary was selected as the UTR ITA DI Men's National Player of the Week, the Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced Tuesday afternoon.
This marks the first time the Pilsen native has earned this honor in his career after going undefeated over the weekend, helping the Wildcats 7-0 sweep of #32 Vanderbilt before dropping a 4-3 nail bitter against #14 Harvard.
Against the Commodores, Stary defeated #109 George Harwell in three sets at No.1 singles and along with partner Chris Ephron, at No. 2 doubles, bested the doubles team of Max Freeman and Christiaan Worst, 4-3. He was back against #14 Crimson where he downed #68 Ronan Jachuck in three sets at No. 2 singles (6-3, 2-6, 6-3) and bested the No. 2 doubles team of Sun and Walker, 6-3.
Stary and the 'Cats will be back on the court for a Saturday doubleheader as they take on #7 Columbia and UIC at the Combe Tennis Center at 12 pm and 5:30 pm respectively.
