'Cats Drop Contest Against Minnesota

EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern fell to Minnesota, 83-57, on Sunday afternoon at Welsh-Ryan Arena.
Pete Nance led the Wildcats with 11 points on 5-for-9 shooting. The sophomore has now topped the team in scoring five times this season. Ryan Young joined him in double figures with 10 points, marking his second straight game in double-figure scoring and 12th of the season.
Boo Buie, Miller Kopp, and Robbie Beran all contributed offensively as well. Buie dropped nine points while Kopp and Beran added eight apiece.
Young got things going for the 'Cats with the first six points out of the gate. Buie created instant offense with a pair of stepback jumpers later in the period.
Beran and Nance paced NU in the second half. Beran had all eight of his points in the second stanza, while Nance recorded another six.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back in action on Thursday as they host Illinois at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
