Burdisso and Brunzell Earn Big Ten Freshman of the Week Honors

EVANSTON, IL – First-years Federico Burdisso and Hannah Brunzell both earned Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced on Wednesday afternoon.
 
In his first meet at the Norris Aquatics Center, Burdisso tallied two individuals wins in the 100 and 200 fly to earn two NCAA 'B' Cuts and score 18 NU points. The Pavia, Italy native also swam second leg on the winning 400 free relay and the third place 200 medley relay where he swam third. In the NASA Invite, the first-year brought home three additional long course individual wins in the 50 fly, 50 free and 400 IM. 

First-year Hannah Brunzell captured her fifth Big Ten freshman of the week honors after earning two first place finished against #12 Louisville int he 100 and 200 breast. The Swedish native also swam second leg on the fourth place 200 medley relay team and lead off on the 400 free relay that finished sixth. 

Burdisso, Brunzell and the 'Cats will be back in the pool on Friday as they take on #13/RV Notre Dame in South Bend before returning home to battle Big Ten rivals Iowa on Saturday for Senior Day.
