EVANSTON, Ill. - Northwestern continues Big Ten play on Sunday night when it take on Purdue at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m on BTN.

The Wildcats come into the game with a 13-2 record following a thrilling 56-54 walk-off road win against Minnesota. Guard Lindsey Pulliam hit the game-winning layup as time expired. The 'Cats matched their season-high with 15 steals in a strong defensive performance, holding the Golden Gophers 21 points below their season average.

Abi Scheid had a season-high 24 points on 10-17 shooting, giving Scheid her sixth career 20+ point game and her second of the season. Scheid has now scored in double figures in six of her last eight games.

Veronica Burton continued her defensive dominance, tallying five steals against the Golden Gophers. The sophomore has recorded at least four steals in each of the past five games and leads the Big Ten with 3.8 steals per game. Burton is also second in the Big Ten with 5.4 assists per game.

The 'Cats rank first in the Big Ten and fifth in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio with a mark of 1.51. They also boast the second best scoring defense in the conference and tenth best in the nation, allowing just 53.1 points a game, while committing a conference low. 13.5 fouls a game.

Purdue enters the contest at 11-5 overall and and 2-2 in the Big Ten play. The 'Cats last defeated the Boilermakers on Dec. 31, 2016, and the four ensuing matchups have been decided by a total of 11 points.

Northwestern looks to continue their strong play in Big Ten play and surge into the AP top 25 for the first time this season. The team currently has 18 votes, one vote short of No. 25 Princeton.
