EVANSTON, Ill. -The Northwestern Wildcats closed out their non-conference slate with a victory over the Eastern Illinois Panthers, 1-0 on Sunday afternoon in Martin Stadium.
Bardia Kimiavi struck first for the 'Cats in the 17thminute marking the second goal of his sophomore campaign and fourth in his career. The goal was assisted by a cross from Matt Moderwell and Jose Del Valle.
The Wildcats defense once again made life difficult for its opponent. The Panthers had zero shots on goal.
In goal, Redshirt senior Robbie White made his first start of the season and recorded the fourth shutout of his career.
Northwestern also outshot Eastern Illinois, 7-2.
Chicago's Big Ten Team opens Big Ten play on Friday, Sept. 20 as they travel to take on defending National Champions, Maryland in College Park. Game time is set for 6 p.m. CT.
