Payton Chang Joins ‘Cats as Grad Transfer

EVANSTON, Ill. – Head Coach Shane Davis announced the addition of Graduate Transfer Payton Chang to the 2019 Northwestern volleyball roster.
A graduate of Stanford University, Chang joins the Wildcats after being a part of the 2016 and 2018 National Championships teams with the Cardinals. She was also a part of the 2017 and 2018 Pac-12 Championships teams and the Stanford Beach Volleyball team where she earned Pac-12 Beach Volleyball Academic Honorable Mention both years.
A native of Newport, California, she earned her bachelor's degree in Science, Technology and Society and will pursue a Master's Degree in Sports Administration from Northwestern's School of Professional Studies.
"Our staff is incredibly excited to have Payton join our Wildcat family," said Davis. "We believe she will be a phenomenal addition to our team, bringing the leadership and experience of winning on the highest level to help us continue our pursuit of winning on a conference and national level."
Previous to joining The Farm, Chang was selected to the USA Women's Junior A1 National Training Team and was to play in the 2015 Orange County All-Star Game. During her time at Mater Dei High School she also was a selected to the AVCA Under Armour All-American Second Team and received Volleyball Magazine All-America Honorable Mentions.
