Northwestern Announces the Addition of Chase Audige

EVANSTON, Ill. — Sullivan-Ubben Head Men's Basketball Coach Chris Collins has announced the addition of Chase Audige to the Wildcats' roster as a transfer. Audige played his rookie campaign at William & Mary and he will sit out the 2019-20 season due to NCAA transfer rules. He will have three seasons of eligibility remaining beginning in 2020-21.
 
"We are very excited with the addition of Chase Audige to the Northwestern basketball family," said Collins. "Chase is a terrific athlete with a high skill level that will bring toughness and competitiveness into our program. He is a high-character individual with a commitment to bettering himself, and those around him, on and off the court."
 
The Coram, New York, native played in 31 games last season, making 21 starts, and averaged 9.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.4 assists and shot 37% from behind the arc. A 6-foot-4 guard, he pulled in a number of honors in his first collegiate season, including Colonial Athletic Association's All-Rookie Team honors, VaSID State Rookie of the Year, three CAA Rookie of the Week awards and was named William & Mary's co-Defensive Most Valuable Player.
 
Audige turned up his play during league action, tallying 11 points per game, 4.9 rebounds and 2.8 assists while shooting 40.3% from deep in 18 contests against CAA opponents. He finished the year fourth in the CAA with 1.5 steals per game and his 44 steals on the season ranked second in William & Mary history.
 
The athletic guard scored in double figures on 13 occasions for the Tribe, including a pair of 20-point performances. Audige scored a career-high 24 points at UNC Wilmington, shooting 8-of-11 from the field to finish with 24 points. Against St. Joseph's, he knocked down five triples on seven attempts to finish with 20 points.
 
Audige finished his prep career at The Hill School (Pa.) where he was eighth-ranked prospect in the state. He led The Hill School to its second-ever Pennsylvania Independent Schools Athletic Association (PAISAA) Championship in 2018 and was named The Mercury 2017-2018 All-Area Boys Basketball Player of the Year. An All-MAPL First Team selection as a junior and senior, he averaged 14.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game over his final two high school seasons.
