Stary Earns All-Big Ten Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. – Junior Dominik Stary was awarded All-Big Ten honors for the third consecutive year, the Big Ten announced.
 
This marks the first First-Team award for the junior. In his first two seasons, Stary earned Second-Team All-Big Ten honors after winning the Big Ten Singles Championship as a first-year and amassing 38 career singles wins.
 
In the 2019 season, the junior was ranked as high as #115 with notable wins including defeating #82 Josip Krstanovic of Minnesota and Michigan's Andrew Fenty. Playing in both the No. 1 and No. 2 singles position, the Pilsen, Czech Republic native claimed his second Big Ten Singles Championship in the fall and finished the regular season with a 11 wins.
 
Junior Chris Ephron was awarded  the Sportsmanship Award for Northwestern after 14 wins across the No. 3, 4 and 5 singles positions.  
 
Northwestern kicks off the Big Ten tournament against #10 Purdue Thursday afternoon at the Michigan Varsity Tennis Center in Ann Arbor. The tournament is set to run April 25-28. Full coverage and live result can be found here.
