Four Wildcats Named to 2019 NFF Hampshire Honor Society

EVANSTON, Ill.— Four members of the Northwestern Football program were named to the 2019 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society Wednesday, which is made up of players who maintain a 3.2 GPA or higher throughout their college careers.
Seniors Clayton Thorson, Nate Hall, Tommy Doles and Flynn Nagel were selected as members of a record class of 1,643 players from 424 schools. It is the third-consecutive year Northwestern is represented in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society.
Over his four-year career, Thorson became Northwestern's record holder for passing yards (10,731), touchdowns (61) and wins by a quarterback. He also made 53 consecutive starts, a Big Ten record, and was named Academic All-Big three times.
Hall started nine games during his senior campaign. The three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree appeared in 48 games during his time in Evanston, racking up 259 total tackles, 39.5 TFL's and 5 interceptions.
Doles was a constant presence on the offensive line and was critical in the protection and production of Thorson. Doles appeared in 45 games over four seasons and started 25 consecutive games at right guard through the 2016 and 2017 seasons. He was a four-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and earned 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-DIstrict accolades.
Nagel saw action in 45 games over his four seasons as a Wildcat, averaging 39.2 yards per game. The two-time Academic-All Big Ten honoree totaled a career-high 220 receiving yards against Nebraska in a thrilling overtime victory during his senior season. He finished his career tied for eighth in program history with 160 receptions and 10th with 1,763 yards.
