Wildcats Head to Minnesota for Second Shot at Golden Gophers

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern heads to to Minneapolis to take on Minnesota, Sunday in Williams Arena. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. on Big Ten Network.
The 'Cats enter the matchup with a 14-9 record on the season with a 7-5 mark in the Big Ten, good for fifth in the conference.
The Wildcats are coming off their first conference road loss in over a month after a hard-fought contest against No. 10 Maryland, 72-57. Northwestern outscored the Terrapins by six points in the second half. Lindsey Pulliam led the way with a game-high 18 points, extending her double-digit scoring streak to 22 games. The sophomore ranks third in the Big Ten in scoring during conference play, averaging 18.5 points per game.
Junior Abi Scheid added 16 points on 6-for-12 shooting from the floor, while senior Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah pulled in 13 rebounds, her 17thdouble-digit rebound game this season. Her 12.1 rebounds per game during conference play is third best in the conference.
Minnesota (16-7, 5-7 Big Ten) enters the game coming off three-straight wins, including a 65-61 victory at Indiana on Wednesday.
Northwestern and Minnesota met just three games prior in Welsh-Ryan Arena on January 31. The 'Cats controlled the boards, 38-29, led by Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah who grabbed 11 rebounds. The senior added 14 points and limited the Big Ten's leading offensive rebounder, Taiye Bello, to just one in the contest. The Golden Gophers outlasted the Wildcats, 61-54.
