Wildcats Add Aurea Martin to Class of 2023

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern women's soccer head coach Michael Moynihan announced the addition of midfielder Aurea Martin (Gilroy, Calif./Christopher) to the Class of 2023.
"We are very excited to be adding Aurea to our incoming class," said head coach Michael Moynihan. "She is a dynamic attacking midfielder that is calm on the ball, links very well going forward, and is also very capable of scoring herself, so she will be an important player in our efforts to improve goal scoring. Her personality is also a perfect fit our team culture, so we couldn't be more excited!"
Martin will be joining the Wildcats in addition to eight already-announced recruits.

Aurea Martin // 5-5 // Mountain View Los Altos ECNL Milan // Gilroy, Calif.
High School: Played her club soccer for Mountain View Los Altos ECNL Milan from 2016 on … Won 2017 ECNL Northwest Conference Championship with her club … Played varsity all four years at Christopher High School … Named First Team All-League every season … Scored 13 goals and seven assists as a first-year, before scoring 25 with nine assists as a sophomore … Named scored 29 goals and added 27 assists as a junior, being named League MVP and High School All-American while leading Christopher to the Monterey Bay League title … Class president for three years before becoming ASB president as a senior … National Honors Society member … Played against future Wildcat teammate Marianna Annest.
Personal: Parents are Darlene del Carmen and Tim Martin … Mother played soccer at Virginia … Anticipated major is neuroscience.
