'Cats Cruise Past Ohio State in 'Pink Game'

EVANSTON, Ill. – Playing in its annual #Play4Kay "Pink Game," Northwestern cruised to a 76-59 victory over Ohio State, marking the Wildcats fifth win in their last six games.

Lindsey Pulliam led all players with 23 points on 8-of-17 shooting while also contributing four rebounds and two assists. The Wildcats are now 7-1 this season when she scores at least 20 points.

Meanwhile, Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah notched her seventh-straight double-double and 14th on the season, finishing with 17 points, 13 rebounds to go along with four steals. The senior forward also finished 9-of-10 from the free throw line, her best output in conference play this season.

Jordan Hamilton also finished with double figures. The sophomore recorded 12 points on an efficient 5-of-6 shooting along with four assists and a season high-tying four steals.

Junior forward Abi Scheid returned to the Wildcats' starting lineup after missing the last six games with a lower body injury and contributed seven points and three rebounds in 28 minutes of action.

The #B1GCats defense made play difficult for the Buckeyes throughout the entire game, forcing 20 turnovers and 14 steals, their most in Big Ten play this season. Northwestern converted those turnovers into 25 points on the other end. Kunaiyi-Akpanah and Hamilton led the Wildcats' defensive effort with four steals apiece, while five other NU players chipped in with at least one steal of their own.

Northwestern is now 14-8 overall with a 7-4 mark in Big Ten play. Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 7 as it travels to take on No. 11 Maryland in College Park. Tip-off scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
