'Cats Set to Battle Baylor, Georgia Tech this Weekend

EVANSTON, ILL. — Following split decisions at the ITA Indoor Championships last weekend, No. 11 Northwestern returns to action this weekend for a pair of matches. The Wildcats will host Baylor at the Combe Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m., before traveling to Atlanta to battle Georgia Tech on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. CT.
Admission to Friday's match is free and pizza will be available during the doubles/singles break. Following the match, fans are invited to play on the courts with the 'Cats.
Northwestern (4-3) fell to No. 8 Texas in the opening draw at the indoor championships and then topped No. 18 LSU, 4-3, to come away 1-1 on the weekend.
Baylor (5-5) enters the match on four-game losing streak after falling, 4-3, to Washington State last time out. Friday's match is additionally promising for Chicago's Big Ten Team, as the Bears have an 0-4 record on the road this year.
Northwestern last faced off against Baylor, then ranked No. 26, last season and suffered a 5-2 loss in Waco, Texas.
Following what should be an exciting match against the Bears this Friday, the 'Cats will go on the road to compete against Georgia Tech on Sunday, February 17th, at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex in Atlanta, Ga.
Georgia Tech just secured its first win of the 2019 season, 4-3 over Winthrop, granting the Yellow Jackets a 1-3 record overall.
