'Cats Roll in Romp Over Dartmouth

EVANSTION, Ill. - Northwestern coasted to a decisive 79-37 win over Dartmouth on Saturday afternoon at Welsh Ryan Arena.
The win improved the 'Cats to 7-1 on the season and 5-1 at home.
The Wildcats dominated the first half, finishing 43-14 at the break. Senior Abbie Wolf led the offensive effort, scoring 12 without missing a shot. Junior Lindsey Pulliam also put up 10 points, and sophomore Veronica Burton contributed five assists and three rebounds.
Northwestern's defense was the highlight of the second quarter, holding Dartmouth without a basket for the first six minutes. Sophomore Sydney Wood led the 'Cats with a career-high four steals on the first half, and the team forced 16 Dartmouth turnovers.
The 'Cats put up a balanced effort in the second half, with 13 different players seeing action. Senior Abi Scheid scored eight points on 3-3 shooting, including her third and fourth three-pointers of the game. Junior Jordan Hamilton also returned to action for the first time in a few weeks to notch a season-high three assists.
Pulliam led the team for the second time this week with 16 points on the game. She has reached double-digits in seven out of the team's eight games this season.
Sophomore Courtney Shaw scored a career-high 11 points on 5-6 shooting from the field. Scheid and Wolf scored 14 points each, setting up the Wildcats' third game on the season with four players in double digit scoring.
The Wildcats wrap up their homestand in two Mondays on Dec. 16 when they host UT Arlington for Field Trip Day at Welsh-Ryan Arena before hitting the road for the West Palm Invitational. Tip-off is set for 11 a.m.
