EVANSTON, Ill. – The 'Cats will host Boston College for the 2019 Big Ten/ACC Women's Basketball Challenge this Wednesday at Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT.
The Big Ten is competing against the ACC for the 14th straight season. The Wildcats last matched up against Boston College in the challenge in 2012, winning in Chestnut Hill, 67-63.
Northwestern is now 5-1 on the season after facing No.16 DePaul and receiving votes for the third straight week in the AP Top 25 Poll. The 'Cats held the Blue Demons 21 points below their scoring average for the season.
Senior Abbie Wolf led the 'Cats with a career high of 18 points and five rebounds against DePaul, marking her sixth straight game with double digit points. Fellow senior Byrdy Galernik and junior Lindsay Pulliam followed close behind with 16 points apiece, including a career-high for Galernik.
Sophomore Veronica Burton continued her dominant defensive performance with four rebounds and four steals, retaining her first place rank in the Big Ten with four steals per game.
Boston College boasts a high-scoring offense, playing eight straight games with at least 60 points on the board. Northwestern averages 67.3 points per game while Boston College has held their opponents to exactly 67.3 points per game.
The Eagles will come to Welsh-Ryan with a 5-3 record on the season with no road wins.
