Wildcats Take No. 16 DePaul to the Wire on Sunday

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern fell short to No. 16 DePaul, 70-68, in a close matchup in Sunday afternoon's game at Welsh Ryan Arena.
The 'Cats dropped to 5-1 after the tight battle with the top-25 Blue Demons. Northwestern led by three with 90 seconds to play.
The Wildcats closed out the first half, 38-39, as they trailed the Blue Demons with one point. Senior Abbie Wolf led the #B1GCats with 12 points and a rebound while junior Lindsey Pulliam scored eight points and three rebounds. Burton also impressed with four assists and two steals.
In the second half, Pulliam led the 'Cats with eight points, a rebound and a steal. Senior Byrdy Galernik was right behind Pulliam with seven points, two rebounds and two steals.
Overall, Wolf led the team with a career-high 18 points, five rebounds and a steal. Pulliam and Galernik also had a good night as they both scored double digits. Pulliam had 16 points and four rebounds and Galernik had a career-high 16 points and two rebounds.
Sophomore Veronica Burton also impressed with four rebounds and four steals.
Chicago's Big Ten Team will be back in action on Wednesday as they host Boston College at Welsh Ryan Arena in the B1G/ACC Challenge. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
