‘Cats Fall to #24 Fighting Illini, 3-1

Champaign, IL – Northwestern fell to #24 Illinois Wednesday night in Champaign, 3-1.
The Wildcats were led by junior Nia Robinson and first-year Temi Tomas-Ailara who tallied 17 and 12 kills on the nights respectively .
Junior Alana Walker led on defense with four blocks and also notched five kills. Sophomore Ella Grbac and first-year Desiree Becker also tallied a combined six blocks. Seniors Payton Chang and Sarah Johnson combined for 32 digs and Chang also added 35 assists to mark her 15th game this season with 30+ assists.
The Wildcats will be back the court Saturday evening at 7 pm at Welsh-Ryan Arena for their regular season finale. During the rematch against the Fighting Illini, Northwestern volleyball will honor six senior during the pre-match Senior Day ceremony.
