EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will travel to Durham, N.C. to face the Duke Blue Devils on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. CT and the game will be televised on the ACC Network.
The 'Cats are 2-0 on the season and will continue their road run after defeating Marquette 64-56 in overtime on Thursday. Four Wildcats posted double-digit points and junior Lindsey Pulliam led with 18. Sophomore Veronica Burton secured a driving layup in the final 5 seconds to force the game into overtime.
Sophomore Sydney Wood dominated in the paint with 11 rebounds, while senior Abbie Wolf secured ten. Wood is ranked second in the Big Ten in rebounds, tallying 19 this season. Burton grabbed six steals, securing her spot as first in the Big Ten for steals.
Pulliam, Wolf and senior Abi Scheid have each posted double-digit points in both games this season. Pulliam is ranked second iin the Big Ten in scoring, averaging 21.5 points per game.
Northwestern has proven their consistency at the charity stripe. The team is ranked first in the Big Ten with a .816 free throw percentage.
Duke is 2-1 overall this season, averaging 69.3 points per game. The Blue Devils are coming off a 57-45 win on the road against UNLV.
Sunday will mark Northwestern's second matchup against Duke. The Wildcats upset the then-ranked Blue Devils 84-58 last year at home in the two teams' first ever matchup.
