Wildcats Blitz Duke for Second Straight Road Win

DURHAM, N.C. – Northwestern knocked off Duke 63-42 at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Sunday afternoon, behind an explosive 29-4 third quarter.
The Wildcats improved 3-0 on the season and won their second game in a row on the road. They dropped the Blue Devils to 2-2.
Junior Lindsey Pulliam led all scorers with a blend of efficiency and volume, scoring a season-high 26 points on 10-20 shooting, including a career-high four threes. It was her second game this season with 20+ points.
Senior center Abbie Wolf chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds. Sophomores Lauryn Satterwhite and Courtney Shaw both added a career-high six points off the bench. Sophomore guard Veronica Burton collected eight assists, one shy of her career high.
The Wildcat defense was stingy again, holding Duke to just 28% from the field and 21% from three, as well as the aforementioned four-point third quarter. The 'Cats forced 16 turnovers.
Northwestern started the game hot on a 8-0 run, and took an eight point lead into the second quarter. Duke clawed back to tie things up at 25 at the end of the half.
The Wildcats then blitzed the Blue Devils in the third thanks to back-to-back threes from Pulliam to start the frame, and a pair of knockdown corner triples from Satterwhite.
Chicago's Big Ten Team returns home for a six game homestand that extends into the middle of December. The 'Cats will host Valpo at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Thursday, with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
