EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern will travel to Milwaukee to play Marquette on Thursday at 7 p.m. for their first road game of the year.

The Wildcats are coming off a substantial victory after a 67-46 win over Loyola Maryland in their first regular season game Sunday. The 'Cats led the game for over 35 minutes. Three of Northwestern's starters turned in double-digit scoring performances, including 25 points from junior Lindsey Pulliam, 14 from senior Abbie Wolf and 10 from senior Abi Scheid

As a team, the 'Cats shot an impressive 16-for-18 from the charity stripe, boosting them to the fifth ranked spot in free throw percentage so far this year in the country.

Sophomore Veronica Burton was a defensive catalyst, collecting four steals. Senior Abi Scheid accumulated three steals, leading the team to 11 steals for the game.

The Wildcats are 8-2 in their last 10 road openers, including an impressive victory last year at Green Bay, the eventual runner-up in the Horizon League.

Marquette will host Chicago's Big Ten team after a strong home win against Illinois State on Sunday. The Golden Eagles attained a 27-8 record last season, boasting a 15-2 record at home only suffering losses to Butler and No. 2 Notre Dame.

The Golden Eagles lost all five starters and their five top scorers from last season. They are now led by junior Selena Lott who is averaging 17.7 PPG in their first three contests.

Thursday marks Northwestern's twelfth matchup against Marquette all-time. The Wildcats are currently leading the series with a record of 8-3 against the Wildcats.

Quotables

Joe McKeown

On the team's shooting ability…
"Every time Pulliam shoots, I think the ball's going in. When it doesn't go in, I'm looking at my coaches like 'What happened? Did she get fouled? How'd she miss?'. When Veronica Burton shoots the ball, especially when she gets in transition, I think ever shot she takes is going in too. I've seen Jordan Hamilton score 25 points in Big Ten games, so I know she's capable of averaging double figures. Abi Scheid, every time she shoots, I think the ball is going in. We missed some shots and we'll look at it, but I think that'll clean itself out."

On Northwestern's presence in the paint…
"Today it worked. I was really proud of Abbie Wolf. I thought she finished the Big Ten last year really strong for us. [As] for Pallas, sometimes she played with Pallas a little bit, and I think she's coming into her own. It gives us a presence that you have to have in this league, so I thought that was big. We've got some lineups we messed with in practice that we, maybe, didn't really get to today."

Lindsey Pulliam

On early shooting struggles against Loyola-Maryland…
"Keep shooting. Eventually it's going to go in. It was the first game, so we were a little rough coming in, and I think we just got comfortable within the game, and everybody started making shots."

Abi Scheid

On defense…
"I think defense is all effort. We all came into the game knowing the personnel. Just trying to outsmart them is always our biggest goal."
