Pulliam Named to Preseason All-Big Ten Team

EVANSTON, Ill. – Junior guard Lindsey Pulliam was named to the Preseason All-Big Team by both the coaches and the media, as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon. 

 Pulliam was a unanimous selection by the coaches to the eleven player team, and one of ten selected to the media team. Pulliam was just one of four players selected unanimously by the coaches along with Kathleen Doyle of Iowa, Kaila Charles of Maryland and Naz Hillmon of Michigan. 

The Silver Spring, Md. native earned a first team All-Big Ten selection after the 2018-19 season after averaging 16.5 points, the best fifth-best scoring output in the conference, along with 1.8 assists and 3.6 rebounds in 34.6 minutes per game. She is one of six returning first team selections to this year's preseason All-Big Ten team.

Pulliam became the fastest player in NU history to reach 1,000 points in her career and has 1074 after Northwestern made an extended postseason run in 2019, advancing to the championship game of the WNIT. 

Pulliam spent part of her summer representing USA Basketball at the Pan-Am Games in Peru, where the USA took second place, under head coach Suzie Merchant, who also coaches Michigan State. 

The Wildcats open their season in less than three weeks with an exhbition at Welsh-Ryan Arena on Wednesday, Nov. 6 against Lewis at 7 p.m. The 'Cats will play their first official game four days later on Sunday, Nov. 10 at 3:30 p.m. against Loyola Maryland at Welsh-Ryan.
