Wildcats to Face Nebraska On Thursday Night

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern [11-7, 4-3 Big Ten] will head to Lincoln, Nebraska, to take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers [9-9, 4-3 Big Ten] Thursday night in Pinnacle Bank Arena. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT.
The Wildcats are searching for their third consecutive Big Ten win after downing Wisconsin, 72-46 on Sunday in the new Welsh-Ryan Arena. Senior Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah dominated the paint with a season-high 21 points while adding 15 rebounds to secure her tenth double-double of the season and 31st of her career.
Lindsay Pulliam also contributed 21 points and Jordan Hamilton tallied another 11 to give the 'Cats three scorers in double-digits for the 12th time this season.
Pulliam, who is averaging 19.4 ppg in conference play, extended her double-digit scoring streak to 17 games. Her sophomore campaign ties for tenth in Northwestern history for most consecutive games with double-digit points.
The Wildcats continue to overwhelm opponents with a stout defensive effort. The Wildcats held the Badgers to 24.6 percent shooting, forced 13 turnovers and allowed Wisconsin only two points in the second quarter. After Sunday's performance, Northwestern sits at the top of the Big Ten in scoring defense, defensive field goal percentage, and defensive three-point field goal percentage in conference play.
Chicago's Big Ten team is in a dead heat with Nebraska since the Huskers joined the Big Ten in 2011, with the teams having five wins apiece. Northwestern's most recent win over the Cornhuskers was Dec. 28, 2016 in Pinnacle Bank Arena.
