LINCOLN, Neb. – Northwestern (12-7, 5-3 Big Ten) took down Nebraska on Thursday night, outlasting the Cornhuskers, 58-54, in Pinnacle Bank Arena for its third straight conference win.

Senior Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah recorded her 11^thdouble-double of the season with 10 points and 19 rebounds. A dominate force on both sides of the ball, Kunaiyi-Akpanah also dished out three assists and swiped four blocks. The senior captain's lay-up late in the fourth quarter put the 'Cats ahead to seal the victory.

Sophomore Lindsey Pulliam scored ten of her 21 points in the third quarter to give the 'Cats new momentum in a game that saw six ties and seven lead changes. Pulliam extended her double-digit scoring streak to 18 games, which now places her tenth in Northwestern history for most consecutive games with double-digit points.

Jordan Hamilton contributed 12 points, shooting three-for-five from beyond the arc. The sophomore added two steals, one of which gave Northwestern the final possession of the game in the final seconds after intercepting an inbound Nebraska pass.

First-year Sydney Wood added seven points and two steals and Veronica Burton pulled down a career high seven rebounds.

Northwestern will continue play on the road as it travels to Champaign, Illinois, to take on the Fighting Illini for the second time this season. Tip-off for that game is set for Sunday, Jan. 27, at 2 p.m.
