Four 'Cats Compete at Milwaukee Tennis Classic

MILWAUKEE — Julie Byrne, Caroline Pozo, Hannah McColgan and Vanessa Streng represented Northwestern at the 2019 Milwaukee Tennis Classic over the weekend.
 
Byrne, Pozo and Streng each tallied opening round singles wins before Byrne eventually advanced to the round of 16. The Dublin, Ireland, native topped Maria Alfaro (Louisiana Monroe), 4-6,6-0, 6-1, and Oklahoma's Jasmine Asghar, 6-1, 6-0.
 
In doubles action, McColgan and Byrne bested VCU's duo of Delgado and Tutunaru, 8-6, before falling to LSU's Carrington and Richardson, 8-6.  

Northwestern returns to action on Oct. 4-6, when it hosts the annual Wildcat Invite.
