EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern senior Jack Dunn has been named to the 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA. The Wildcats' shortstop is one of four infielders and one of 11 players overall who have been selected to represent District 5 this season. This is the second-straight year that Dunn has been selected to the prestigious team.
Â
The 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. In order to be selected for a CoSIDA Academic All-District Team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.3, or higher, in both undergraduate and graduate studies.
Â
First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees to be announced in June.
Â
Dunn, an economics major and business institutions minor, has been one of the most consistent bats in the Big Ten this season as his batting average (.346) and on-base percentage (.437) both rank in the top-five of the Conference.
Â
A model of consistency and durability, Dunn has played and started in 207 consecutive games – every game since stepping on campus in 2016. That is the longest consecutive start streak in Wildcat history.
Â
Northwestern will close out the 2019 regular season with a four-game homestand, including a midweek against Notre Dame on Tuesday and a three-game series vs. Minnesota starting on Thursday.
