Tommy Doles Lands on Outland Trophy Watch List

EVANSTON, Ill. — The Outland Trophy presented by the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases, given annually to the nation's top interior lineman, announced its preseason watch list Tuesday morning that included Northwestern senior Tommy Doles.
The list is highlighted by 82 standout interior linemen representing all 10 Division I FBS conferences and independents. Doles is among 12 Big Ten student-athletes on the list, including Ryan Bates (Penn State), David Beedle (Michigan State), Beau Benzschawel (Wisconsin), Tyler Biadasz (Wisconsin), Ben Bredeson (Michigan), Michael Deiter (Wisconsin), David Edwards (Wisconsin), Dre'Mont Jones (Ohio State), Michael Jordan (Ohio State), Connor McGovern (Penn State), Isaiah Prince (Ohio State) and Olive Sagapolu (Wisconsin).
Doles was a consensus Third-Team All-Big Ten selection last season and enters his senior with 26-consecutive starts over the last two seasons. He entered the starting lineup as a redshirt sophomore in 2016, earning Honorable Mention All-Big Ten honors from the conference's coaches and media. The Grand Rapids, Michigan, native is a two-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
Chicago's Big Ten Team features the best home schedule in the nation in 2018 with Ryan Field playing host to Duke, Akron, Michigan, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Notre Dame. Season ticket information is available at NUSports.com and by calling 888-GO-PURPLE.
