Northwestern dropped an 8-7 decision at Chicago State on March 27. Alex Erro and Jack Claeys each tallied a home run and three RBI.

Western Michigan comes into the week with an 18-18 overall mark and having won four of its last six contests. The Broncos took a series at Eastern Michigan over the weekend. Northwestern topped Western Michigan, 11-4, at Miller Park last season. Claeys, Connor Lind and Leo Kaplan each launched home runs against the Broncos and NU's pitchers combined for 10 strikeouts to lead Northwestern to the win.
