Wildcats Prepare for Trio of Matches

EVANSTON, Ill. – Northwestern is set for a busy week with three conference matches over the course of five days. The stretch will begin on Wednesday, April 4 with a match at Purdue at 3 p.m. CT, and will continue with matches here in Evanston on Friday, April 6 and Sunday, April 8. The 'Cats will host Michigan State at 6 p.m. on Friday and Michigan at noon on Sunday.
Chicago's Big Ten Team is coming a weekend split with two Big Ten foes, as it took care of Nebraska on Friday evening in a 5-2 victory before falling at Iowa Sunday afternoon. Dominik Stary led the way for the Wildcats with singles victories in both contests.
NU will be looking to build on its recent success as winners of three of its last five matches since falling to No. 7 Illinois. The tilt at Purdue will make it four straight away from home for Northwestern.
The Boilermakers enter the match at 8-11 for the season and are winless in four conference matches. They fell to No. 11 Michigan on Sunday last time out.
Michigan State currently holds a mark of 8-12 on the year and 1-4 in Big Ten play. The Spartans narrowly defeated Purdue, 4-3, in their last match.
No. 11 Michigan boasts an impressive 15-3 mark, with just one loss in five conference matchups coming to No. 2 Ohio State. The Wolverines most recently took down Purdue and Cleveland State in a Sunday doubleheader.
