Riley's Best Collegiate Finish Paces 'Cats Top-5 Result

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Brooke Riley earned the best finish of her collegiate career to lead No. 13 Northwestern to a Top-5 result at the elite Darius Rucker Intercollegiate at Long Cove Club (Par-72; 6,296 yards). The sophomore tied for sixth in a field that included ten of the nation's Top-20 players.

Riley put herself in position with an exceptional second round, finishing 1-under on a day when only three players in the tournament managed to be under par. The Manteca, California, native's 217 equals the best three-round score of her career.
Senior Hannah Kim (T22) and junior Stephanie Lau (T25) also posted Top-25 finishes, their seventh and sixth of the campaign, respectively.
The Wildcats will be off from competition for three weeks before returning on March 26 at San Diego State Unviersity's March Mayhem, one of the top match play events in collegiate golf.

The 18-team field at Hilton Head featured six of the Top-9 teams in the nation, and nine of the Top-17. In addition to the No. 13 Wildcats, the leaderboard included No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Arkansas, No. 5 Duke, No. 6 Arizona State, No. 8 South Carolina, No. 9 Furman, No. 14 Oklahoma State, No. 17 Virginia, Auburn, Baylor, Georgia, LSU, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest.
