For the third consecutive round, all four of the scoring Wildcats (in the 5-count-4 format) were within two strokes of par. Hannah Kim showed for the second straight day why she will graduate as the best player in program history. The senior carded a 2-under 70, Northwestern's best round of the Championships, to finish the competition in a tie for 13th. She played the final 40 holes of the tournament at 4-under to close the stroke play portion of her college career with a flourish.
The Wildcats earned the No. 4 seed in the eight-team match play bracket that begins on Tuesday morning. Northwestern and No. 5 Stanford will tee off their quarterfinal match at 7:50 a.m. on hole No.10 at Karsten Creek. The Wildcats and Cardinal finished 1-2 in the stroke play portion of the 2017 NCAA Golf Championships at Rich Harvest Farms, with both ultimately falling to eventual national champion Arizona State. Stanford has qualified for match play in all four years since the format was introduced in 2015, winning the national title in that first year and finishing runner-up in 2016.
Northwestern is one of just three teams, along with Southern California and Stanford, to have finished in the Top-10 at the NCAA Championships each of the last four years.
Golf Channel will air live coverage of the NCAA Match Play Quarterfinals from 10 a.m. to 12:30 pm on Tuesday, May 22, and of the Semifinal matches from 4-8 p.m. later that evening.

Karsten Creek has previously hosted the NCAA Men's Golf Championship in 2003 and 2011. 2018 will mark the first time that Karsten Creek has played host to the NCAA Women's Golf Championship.
Former Oklahoma State golf coach and current athletic direction Mike Holder partnered with renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio to construct one of the most challenging golf courses in the country. When it opened in 1994, Karsten Creek was named "Best New Course" in the country by Golf Digest. The zoysia fairways were cut from a forest of oaks and black jacks, complemented by an undulating terrain that flows throughout the course. The back-nine cascades around the 110-acre Lake Louise that is featured on the finishing holes. The over-seeded rough, greens that make the ball roll as if on glass and intense Oklahoma winds sweeping down the fairways make the course perplexing even for some of the world's top amateur golfers.
