EVANSTON, Ill. -- Fifth-ranked Northwestern puts its eight-match winning streak on the road Tuesday when travels to Waco, Texas, to take on No. 28 Baylor. First serve is set for 5 p.m.
The Wildcats (11-3) have been off from action since posting a 6-1 home win over Indiana March 17. The contest wrapped up a stretch of seven home matches over an eight-match span.
Tuesday's matchup is Northwestern's last remaining nonconference matchup of the regular season and begins a stretch during which the 'Cats play four out of five on the road.
In last week's ITA rankings, the doubles team of Erin Larner and Maddie Lipp came in at No. 4 in the nation while the pairing of Alex Chatt and Lee Or is No. 22. In singles, Larner is No. 49, Lipp is No. 50 and Or is No. 92.
Baylor holds a 7-5 series lead over Northwestern, including posting a 5-2 victory in Evanston in the most recent meeting between the schools Feb. 17, 2017.
The Bears (10-10) are coming off a 5-0 home win over Oklahoma on Sunday. Baylor features a youthful lineup as eight of the nine individuals on the roster are either freshmen or sophomores. The doubles team of Kristina Sorokolet and Jessica Hinojosa was No. 62 in last week's ITA rankings.
