BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Northwestern overcame a 16-point deficit in the fourth quarter to force overtime at Indiana Sunday afternoon, but the Hoosiers outlasted the Wildcats, 78-73.

First-year guard Lindsey Pulliam put forth a super performance on Sunday, dropping a career-high 33 points to lead all scorers. It was the 18th time Pulliam has scored in double figures and the fifth time she has gone over 20 in her first collegiate season.

The leading scorer among all Big Ten newcomers, Pulliam did her damage on 13-of-19 from the field.

Northwestern shot a blistering 52.9 percent overall and knocked down 41.2 percent of its three-point attempts.

Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah hauled in 15 rebounds in the effort, while Byrdy Galernik came off the bench to score 11 points and dish out six assists.

The Hoosiers had three players score in double figures, including Tyra Buss, who finished with a team-high 31 points.

Cold shooting plagued Northwestern in the opening period allowing the Hoosiers to jump out to a 20-8 lead.

Northwestern used a 7-0 run midway through the second quarter to pull within four, 25-21. The Wildcats were 9-of-10 from the field in the second quarter, including a pair of triples from Galernik.

Pulliam carried the 'Cats in the first half, scoring 14 points in 20 minutes to head into the locker room trailing, 35-29.

A layup from Buss with 5:29 to play in the fourth quarter sent the Hoosiers up 16, 67-51.

The Wildcats went on a 16-2 run down the final five minutes to cut the Hoosiers' lead to 69-66 with a minute to play. Pulliam scored 13 points during the run.

With Northwestern down three, Abi Scheid stole the ball with 16 seconds remaining. The Wildcats came down the court and Galernik knocked down a triple to pull NU even, 69-69, with 12 seconds on the clock and eventually force overtime.

Indiana outscored Northwestern, 9-4, in the overtime period.

Chicago's Big Ten Team continues its road swing with a trip to Michigan Thursday. Tip is set for 6 p.m. CT at Crisler Center.
