McIntosh, Pardon Earn All-Big Ten Honors

EVANSTON, Ill. — Senior guard Bryant McIntosh and junior center Dererk Pardon have earned All-Big Ten honorable mention recognition from the league's media members the conference office announced Monday.
McIntosh has been as solid as they come for dishing the rock the season. The Greensburg, Indiana, native ranks in the top five among Big Ten players with 143 assists (5.1 apg) and owns a 1.99 assist-to-turnover ratio. His top performance came on Jan. 10 when he handed out a school-record 16 assists without committing a turnover against Minnesota, making him the first Division I player in 13 years to not commit a turnover while dishing out at least 16 assists. His 694 career assists are a school record and place him in a tie for fifth on the Big Ten's career assists list.
McIntosh, who has battled injuries the latter half of the season, is tied for second on the team with 12.0 points per game and leads the 'Cats at the free throw line with an .860 mark.
Pardon earns the recognition after posting 11.2 points per game and a team-best 7.1 rebounds per contest. His .623 field goal percentage is third in the Big Ten while also ranking fifth with 1.8 blocked shots per game. He currently is NU's all-time leader with a .623 career field goal percentage. The Cleveland, Ohio, native made all eight of his shot attempts in the team's win at Wisconsin on Feb. 1, the program's first perfect effort from the field with at least seven attempts since 2006. Pardon was spectacular in the Wildcats' contest against Nebraska on Jan. 2 when he hauled in a season-high 15 rebounds. Eleven of his 15 rebounds against the Cornhuskers came on the offensive end, tying for the second most by a Division I player in a game this season.
This is Pardon's first all-conference honor.
Senior Gavin Skelly was recognized as Northwestern's recipient of the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award. The students chosen are individuals who have distinguished themselves through sportsmanship and ethical behavior. These students must also be in good academic standing and have demonstrated good citizenship outside of the sports-competition setting.
