Wildcats Set to Play Pitt in ACC/B1G Challenge

EVANSTON, Ill. —The 12th annual ACC/B1G Challenge commences Wednesday with a 14-game series pitting Big Ten teams against Atlantic Coast Conference challengers. Northwestern women's basketball will host Pitt on Thursday in Welsh-Ryan Arena, with tip-off set for 7 p.m.
Northwestern sits at 5-6 all-time in the ACC/B1G Challenge, with three wins in the past four seasons.
The undefeated Wildcats continued their five-game winning streak with a victory over UT-Martin last Sunday in Evanston. The 'Cats shut down the Skyhawks 90-64, with double-digit efforts from five individual Wildcats.
Senior Pallas Kunaiyi-Akpanah recorded her fourth double-double in five games, with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Kunaiyi-Akpanah ranks first in rebounds the Big Ten, averaging 14 rebounds a game .
First-year Jess Sancataldo led the game with a career-high, exploding for 20 points in just 13 minutes on 8-10 shooting on the floor.
Junior Byrdy Galernik (10) and sophomores Lindsey Pulliam (12) and Jordan Hamilton (10) all added double-digit games to their record books.

- The Panthers hold a 4-4 record, and are coming off a 2-1 effort at the Challenge in Music City, with wins over Arkansas and Tennessee State
- Senior guard Cassidy Walsh leads the team in scoring with 88 points, while sophomore center Cara Judkins leads the defense with 50 total rebounds.
- Pitt ranks 11th in the ACC
- Northwestern is 1-2 all-time against Pitt with the last meeting coming in 1981. NU is 1-1 against the Panthers in Evanston. Pitt won that Jan. 17, 1981 matchup 76-74.
