FULLERTON, Calif. — Despite a double-digit performance by seniors Vic Law and Dererk Pardon, Northwestern lost the opening match-up at the Wooden Legacy Tournament to Fresno State, 78-59, on Thursday evening.

In the contest, Law moved into 33rd place all-time in Northwestern scoring history. He finished with 13 points and has scored in double figures in all four games this season.

Pardon paced the Wildcats with seven points in the first half on three-of-four from the court. He also added five rebounds in 16 minutes of play in the first stanza.

He finished with 11 points in the game, his 38th game scoring 10 or more points. He was five-of-seven from the charity stripe.

NU compiled 15 points off turnovers in the game, edging out the Bulldogs' total of 14.

The Wildcats will battle La Salle on Friday afternoon in the consolation bracket of the event. Miami (FL) beat the Explorers, 85-49, in their matchup in the first round of the event.
