EVANSTON, Ill. – Fresh off a perfect outing at the Vassar Invitational, the Northwestern fencing team will look to keep the momentum going when they travel to Columbus for the Elite Invitational this Saturday and Sunday.

The Wildcats will face Ohio State, North Carolina, Cleveland State, and Cornell on Saturday. On Sunday, NU will square off against Princeton, Penn, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Cornell once again. There will be nine 5-point bouts per weapon, with three fencers from each school.

Several 'Cats will look to build off impressive outings at the Vassar Invitational. Six Wildcats posted double-digit wins, and the quartet of Jerrica Liao, Alyssa Chen, Sofia Simontov, and Dhruthi Reddy all finished the event undefeated. Additionally, eleven first-years earned the first collegiate wins of their careers.

Last season, Northwestern went 5-3 at the Elite Invitational, including a dramatic 15-12 win over host Ohio State.
