EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern, winners of four straight, will welcome No. 3 Notre Dame to Ryan Field on Saturday for a primetime matchup under the lights for the 49th meeting between the two programs. The Wildcats have won each of the last two meetings versus the Fighting Irish, including a 17-15 victory on Sept. 2, 1995 and a thrilling 43-40 overtime win on Nov. 15, 2014.

Notre Dame is the first top-3 opponent to visit Ryan Field since No. 1 Ohio State in 2006.

The Wildcats (5-3) and Fighting Irish (8-0) will square off on in a primetime matchup in front of a nationally-televised audience on ESPN with Sean McDonough, Todd Blackledge and Holly Rowe. As always, fans can listen to the broadcast with the voice of the Wildcats Dave Eanet, Ted Albrecht and Adam Hoge on WGN 720. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:15 p.m.

HOT STREAK  -- The Wildcats defeated No. 19/20 Wisconsin last Saturday, 31-17, to extend their winning streak to four games and improve to 5-3 overall. With the win, Chicago's Big Ten Team...
...Improved to 5-1 in Big Ten play for the first time since 2000.
...Extended its winning streak versus Big Ten West division foes to nine games.
...Snapped Wisconsin's 16-game winning streak versus Big Ten West division opponents.
...Earned its 12th victory in its last 13 Big Ten contests.
...Claimed its largest margin of victory over the Badgers since a 35-0 win on Oct. 21, 1995.

SPEAKING OF STREAKS -- With a 34-31 win over Nebraska on Oct. 13, the 'Cats won their fifth-straight overtime game dating back to the 2014. The streak started with a 43-40 overtime win over No. 14 Notre Dame on Nov. 15, 2014. NU became the first FBS program to win three-straight games in overtime during the 2017 season.

THE ARA CONNECTION  -- Northwestern and Notre Dame are inextricably linked by the career of legendary head coach Ara Parseghian. Parseghian directed the Wildcats program from 1956-63 and was 36-35-1 in his NU tenure, leading the 'Cats to a No. 1 national ranking for two weeks in the 1962 season. Parseghian, who coached Notre Dame to national championships in 1966 and 1973, also was 4-0 against the Fighting Irish during his time at the helm in Evanston.

BOWSER, MORE LIKE WOW-SER  -- First-year running back Isaiah Bowser set career highs with 34 carries and 117 yards and scored his third touchdown in the last two weeks in the Wildcats' 31-27 victory over Wisconsin. Bowser is the first NU rookie to rush for 100 yards in back-to-back games since Justin Jackson rushed for 100 yards in three-straight on two separate occasions in 2014.
