Stary advances to second day of Big Ten Singles Play

Ann Arbor, Mich. – The Wildcats took to the courts today to kick off the Big Ten Singles/Doubles Championships hosted by Michigan.
 
After a round 1 bye, Junior Dominik Stary advanced to the third round of play with an impressive win in the second round. Stary took down Piekarsky of IU in a quick two sets (6-1, 6-4) and will continue play tomorrow in the round of 16.
 
First year Trice Pickens and Sophomore AJ Joshi both made runs for the 'Cats during the first day of play. After taking down Alp Sentay of PSU in two sets (6-4, 6-3), Pickens would later fall to Tyler of Iowa after a tightly contested match (4-6, 6-3, 6-3). Joshi alao took it to the wire with Lakoselja of PSU but would fall in the third set (6-7 (4), 6-1, 6-3)
 
Stary will be back in action tomorrow to take on Smietana of Iowa to qualify for the quarter finals.
