Wildcats Head to Ann Arbor Hoping to Make a Splash in Season Opener

ANN ARBOR, MICH. – Under the combined new direction of Jeremy Kipp, both teams will head to Ann Arbor to take on No. 3 Michigan to kick off the season.
The Wildcats are looking to build off last year after finishing with 4-9 and 6-5 seasons for the men's and women's programs respectively. Friday's session will be an unscored exhibition that will consist of eight swimming events with two mixed relays. Saturday's session will be a traditional 16-event scored meet.
This season, the men return a group of 'Cats who made their mark on the NU record book during the 2017-2018 season including Keegan Bundy, Robert Cecil, Jeffrey Durmer, Liam Gately, Justin Hanson, Will Hofstadter, DJ Hwang, Thanas Kountroubis, Peter Lewczyk, Tyler Lis, Arjun Sharma, and Jack Thorne and Lyon Zhang.
On the women's side, Northwestern will return an equally experienced group of competitors, including 2018 Big Ten Diver of the Year, Olivia Rosendahl, NCAA Qualifier Calypso Sheridan and Big Ten scorers, Sophie Angus, Malorie Han and Ilektra Lebl.
Joining the men, is an impressive group of newcomers including Virginia Tech transfer, Colin Murphy and first years Henry Blaul, Yohan Eskrick-Parkinson, Brandon Kulik, Evan Labuda, Ezra Mizgala Andrew Zhang and brothers Patrick Gridley and Ryan Gridley.
The women will also welcome a group of young Wildcats looking to make an impact, including Labonita Ghose, Miriam Guervara, Jasmine Hellmer, Lily Kurzydlo, Renee Su, Emma Theobald, and Tara Vovk.
The meet will take place at Canham Natatorium with live results available online.
