BOISE, Idaho – Northwestern rolled to a dominant win at Boise State on Sunday afternoon, winning 5-0 on the back of another impressive performance from the young members of the squad.

The competition got underway with a 6-1 win by Dominik Stary and Ben Vandixhorn at No. 1 doubles, before a win by the hosts at No. 2 meant that the first point of the match came down to No. 3.

NU's team of Michael Lorenizini and Chris Ephron took on Ryland McDermott and Wyatt DeMulling, and the set went to a tiebreaker knotted at six games apiece. In a back-and-forth sequence, Lorenzini and Ephron pulled off a 7-5 win to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead in the match.

Ben Vandixhorn quickly doubled the advantage with a commanding display at No. 3 singles, winning 6-0, 6-3. Stary soon added another point, as he dispatched Jack Heslin with a 7-5, 6-0 result.

With the team needing just one win to clinch the match, two first years stepped up for Northwestern. Nick Brookes won 6-2, 6-2, while AJ Joshi completed a similarly convincing straight-set win just moments later. The two rookies have both picked up victories in each of their first two dual appearances for the 'Cats.

With the score sitting at 5-0, singles matches at No. 1 and No. 5 remained unfinished. Wildcat first-year Antonioni Fasano and junior Jason Seidman each had won their first set but were stopped before completing the second.

Next up for Chicago's Big Ten Team will be the ITA Kickoff tournament on Jan. 27-28 in Norman, Oklahoma. NU will first face the Sooners before then taking on either Georgia Tech or Illinois.
