PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. — For only the fifth time in Northwestern history, a Wildcat women's golfer has recorded an ace.

It was senior Hannah Kim, one of the most accomplished players in NU history, who swung her 9-iron on the par-3, 162-yard 15th hole at Palos Verdes Golf Club, that ended up in the hole.
 
She joins Lauren Weaver, Rebecca Lederhausen, Hana Kim, and Meghan McCormick as Wildcat golfers who have made a hole-in-one in their collegiate careers.
 
Kim also led all Wildcats in scoring in the second day of the rigorous NorthropGrumman Regional Challenge, carding a 1-over 72 to slide into a tie for 23rd.
 
Sarah Cho remains in the lead among all 'Cats, tied for 17th after a 4-over performance on Monday. Janet Mao is also in the top-25, sitting at 5-over after shooting 73 in round two.
 
Stephanie Lau (T76, +15) and Brooke Riley (T88, +19) round out the starting lineup for NU after two rounds. Monica Matsubara, entered as an individual, is tied for 60th after shooting 12-over, combined between the two rounds.
 
No. 12 Northwestern (+24) stands in sole possession of eighth place of the 18-team tournament which features four of the top five squads in the nation. The leaders, No. 1 UCLA and No. 3 Alabama, are both 8-over.
 
The Wildcats will be paired with Florida, Duke, and Stanford in a shotgun start at 10:30 a.m. CT for the final round of the event.
