Inglis Set to Helm Team Europe at 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup

ATLANTA — Northwestern men's golf head coach David Inglis is set to lead Team Europe at the 2017 Arnold Palmer Cup, June 9-11.
The event is a Ryder Cup-style competition, featuring American college golfers and European college golfers, played this year at Atlanta Athletic Club, a 7,613-yard, par-72 course on the banks of the Chattahoochee River.
Competition consists of five four-ball matches, five foursome matches, and two sets of ten matches for 30 points overall.
The Edinburgh, Scotland, native is the first Arnold Palmer Cup player to become head coach in the prestigious event. He represented Great Britain and Ireland in 2001 and was a member of the first European team, winners of the 2003 matches. He also served as an assistant coach in the matches in 2011 and 2012, helping the squad make a huge final day comeback to claim the Cup.
The Arnold Palmer Cup has seen scores of elite collegians participate, as a total of 47 former Cup players have claimed 169 victories on the PGA or European Tours.
Inglis has been the head coach of the Wildcats since 2014 and led the 'Cats to two tournament victories in 2016-17, a second-place finish at the Big Ten Championships, and a T-5 finish at the NCAA Regionals in Baton Rouge. He served as the assistant coach for Northwestern prior to his elevation, from 2010-2014.
As a collegian, he played for Tulsa and was a three-time PING All-American and a four-time champion of the Western Athletic Conference. He also earned Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar honors from 2003-04.
