EVANSTON, Ill. — The 14th-ranked Northwestern lacrosse team will look to earn a share of the Big Ten regular-season title on Thursday night at Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium when it plays host to No. 1 Maryland.

Chicago's Big Ten Team enters the contest with a 4-1 mark in conference play, just a game back of the Terrapins. Both teams have secured a spot in the four-team Big Ten Tournament May 5-7, but a win by the 'Cats would split the Big Ten regular-season title.

The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. on the Big Ten Network with Mike Wolf and Sheehan Stanwick Burch.

FREDERICKS SETS NEW PROGRAM MARK
Junior Shelby Fredericks set a new Northwestern single-game record with a career-high 17 draw controls versus Penn State on April 13. Fredericks dominated the circle to finish with double-digit draws for the third time this season. She added eight more draw controls versus Duke, becoming just the second player in program history with 300-plus draws. The Babylon, New York, native leads the Big Ten and ranks fourth in the country with 8.00 draw controls per game.

SHELBY LOVES TO SHARE TOO
Junior Shelby Fredericks leads the Wildcats with 18 assists, nine of which have come in the last six games. She ranks 10th in program history with 48 career assists and is just one point shy of the 100-point plateau.

INGRILLI IN A GROOVE
Senior midfielder Catie Ingrilli has recorded at least one point in all 16 games this season. Ingrilli has 10 multi-point games, including a pair of contests versus Louisville on March 26 and at Ohio State on April 6 in which she had a career-high four points. She scored a career-high three goals in the Wildcats' win at Rutgers last week, marking her eighth game this season with at least two goals.

A CAUSE FOR CLAIRE
Sophomore defender Claire Quinn leads the Big Ten with in caused turnovers (29) and caused turnovers per game (1.81), while ranking second in the league in ground balls (38) and ground balls per game (2.38). She has caused at least two turnovers in nine games this season and tied the second-best mark in program history with six versus Johns Hopkins on March 30.

RESPECT YOUR ELDER
Despite seeing her six-game point streak snapped last week at Rutgers, sophomore attack Liza Elder has provided the Wildcats' with an offensive spark over her last 10 games. Elder has 12 goals and five assists during the stretch that includes five two-goal games and six multi-point contests.

HEY, LEFTY
Junior attack Nicole Beardsley had just 10 points in her first 24 career games, but has stepped up her game over the Wildcats' last four contests. Beardsley has scored two goals in back-to-back games for the first time in her career and has four-straight multi-point games. Her eight points over the last four games make up nearly 44 percent of her career total.
