The Chula Vista, California, native led the tournament field with 19 birdies overall, including a remarkable ten during the second round, and a stretch during which she birdied 15 of 29 holes.
"I'm really pleased for Hannah," said head coach Emily Fletcher. "She made a couple of key up-and-downs today, and finished on some hard holes. It's nice to see her making this many birdies."
Kim's 208 is the second-best tournament performance of her career, and the third-best 54-hole score in program history. Of the 33 best 54-hole marks in the Northwestern record book 26 have been recorded by current Wildcats, and 31 have come under Fletcher's tutelage.
Junior Sarah Cho matched Kim's final round 71 to wrap up the competition with a 2-under 214 and a share of 11th place, equaling her best finish of the season.
"Sarah's game is looking good, she fought hard all week," Fletcher said after the tournament. "She was a key for us this week, and will continue to be moving forward into the postseason. Tuesday produced important bounce-back rounds for Steph [Lau] and Janet [Mao] as well. And you can't overlook Monica [Matsubara]. She is playing well and we're definitely looking for her to help us at the Big Ten Championships. Overall, we're pleased with the week. We made a few silly mistakes but kept fighting and didn't get derailed by them."
As a team, the Wildcats carded their best round of the competition on Tuesday, firing an even par 288 to secure a share of fourth place.
Northwestern, the two-time defending champions, will tee off the 2017 Big Ten Championships on April 21 at TPC River's Bend in Ohio. The Wildcats are currently the top-ranked Big Ten team in both the Golfstat (No. 14) and Golfweek (No. 15) rankings.
