Wildcats' Homestand Continues on BTN versus Johns Hopkins

EVANSTON, Ill. — Northwestern continues its three-game homestand Thursday night under the lights of Lanny and Sharon Martin Stadium against Big Ten foe Johns Hopkins. The game is scheduled for 7 p.m. and will air on the Big Ten Network.
The Wildcats enter the contest 5-5 overall after back-to-back wins over Michigan, 10-8, and Louisville, 12-8. The 'Cats and Blue Jays are meeting for the 17th time in program history and first time since 2014.
RESPECT YOUR ELDER
Sophomore Liza Elder stepped up in a big way Sunday versus Louisville, scoring a pair of goals and dishing out an assist for a career-high three points. Elder has scored at least two goals in two of her last three games and has found the back of the net in three of her last four.
INGRILLI IN A GROOVE
Senior midfielder Catie Ingrilli's career-long point streak was extended to 10 games with a career-high four points Sunday versus Lousiville. Ingrilli has scored a goal in nine of 10 games this season and already has career highs in goals (13), points (17) and free-position goals (8). She also dished out two assists at Michigan and versus Louisville.
FOR THE FIRST TIME
Sophomore defender Claire Quinn provided an offensive spark in the win over Louisville, scoring the first two goals of her career. Quinn scored a goal in the first half, but her second goal of the game started a 5-0 run later in the game to help the 'Cats pull away for a 12-8 victory. Quinn leads the Wildcats in ground balls (24) and caused turnovers (13), ranking third in the Big Ten with 2.40 ground balls per contest.
FREDERICKS DOMINATING THE CIRCLE
Junior Shelby Fredericks is once again among the naton's leaders in draw controls, entering Thursday's game ranked fourth with 7.11 per game. She has averaged 9.6 draw controls per game over her last five contests, which includeds a pair of games with double digits. The Babylon, New York, native already ranks third in program history wit 259 career draw controls, needing just 10 to pass Kristen Kjellman for second.
LOCK DOWN
Northwestern has held four opponents under 10 goals this season, including both Michigan and Louisville last week. The 'Cats gave up just eight goals apiece to the Wolverines and Cardinals in evening their record at 5-5 this season. Sophomore Mallory Weisse made 19 saves last week in the two wins and is now 13th in the country with 92 this season.
GO, GO ESPO
Senior co-captain Christina Esposito continues to lead the Wildcats in goals (26), points (33), shots (64), shots on goal (45), game-winning goals (2) and free-position goals (8). Esposito enters Thursday's game on a career-long 26-game point streak. She has six assists over her last four games and is now just two shy of Danielle Spencer for 10th in program history.
