EVANSTON, Ill. –
Northwestern tips off the final week of the regular season Wednesday when it takes on Michigan at a sold-out Welsh-Ryan Arena. Tip time is set for 6 p.m.

Northwestern (20-9, 9-7 B1G) comes into Wednesday's contest looking to set the school record for victories in a season. The Wildcats have won 20 games four times, including a school-record 20 in the regular season each of the last two years. Including postseason victories, NU also won 20 games in 2009-10 and again in 2010-11.

Northwestern is seeking its 10th Big Ten win of the season which would be a first for the school since the 1932-33 Big Ten champions reached the mark.

Bryant McIntosh has been on a tear for the Wildcats lately. Over the last 11 games, the junior guard is averaging 18.2 points and 5.5 assists per contest. He is eight assists shy of matching Michael Thompson (2008-11) for the NU career assists record of 528. His 520 assists are the second most of any non-senior in the nation (Kahron Ross, Lehigh; 521).

This week marks the final two home games for Northwestern at Welsh-Ryan Arena prior to the facility undergoing a complete $110 million renovation following the completion of the season.

Michigan assistant coach Billy Donlon attended Glenbrook North High School in nearby Northbrook, Illinois, where he was coached by NU assistant coach Brian James. It is the same high school that Northwestern head coach Chris Collins attended. Donlon's father, Bill, was an assistant coach at Northwestern under Bill Foster for seven years from 1986-93.

Wednesday's game is the lone regular-season meeting between the teams this season. Michigan took both of its matchups with the Wildcats last season, winning 72-63 Feb. 24 in Ann Arbor and 72-70 in overtime March 10 in the second round of the Big Ten tournament.

Scouting Michigan
The Wolverines (19-10, 9-7) have won five of their last six games, including posting an 82-70 win over then-No. 14 Purdue in Ann Arbor last Saturday. Moritz Wagner paced Michigan with 24 points. Derrick Walton Jr. leads the team with averages of 14.4 points and 4.0 assists per game. Michigan is first in the Big Ten with 9.4 3-point field goals per contest, a +3.3 turnover margin and a .775 free throw percentage.
